Hi
Most doctors, including myself, would agree that a 16 year old is entitled to full confidentiality when attending a doctor, with or without their parents. So, yes, you can be seen without your parents, and they are told of your attendance, or test results, if ordered. This is particularly important for personal health matters.
Medicare supports young people to attend doctors for health matters, and at 16 years of age, you are entitled to have your own personal Medicare Card. This is only necessary if you are concerned about your parents finding out your attendance through the Medicare records.
